Wexer leadership transition and what comes next

Wexer is looking ahead to its next chapter after a year of strong progress across our products, partnerships, and global customer base.

As we continue our mission to deliver world-class content that equips and empowers people to be fit, healthy and happy, there will also be a change in leadership. Paul Bowman will step down as CEO of Wexer Group, with Robert Louw taking on the role of Interim Head of Wexer Group from the 23rd of September, after five years as Wexer’s Chief Growth Officer and, most recently, Chief Operating Officer.

What changes

While the leadership structure is changing, our direction, ambition and mission remain the same.

2026 has already been an important year for Wexer. We welcomed significant new customers, strengthened relationships with some of the world’s largest health club operators and continued to invest in our technology and products.

This has included major improvements across the Wexer platform, the launch of new digital experiences for Reformer Pilates and Aquatics, and, most recently, the global launch of GymRAX powered by Wexer – combining digital technology and content to bring functional training spaces and equipment to life.

The same team, experience, and passion that have helped build Wexer will continue to drive the digital fitness category forward.

Robert Louw, incoming Interim Head of Wexer Group, said:

“Wexer has always been about much more than technology. It’s about helping operators to grow and create better fitness experiences for their members.

“We have made significant steps forward in 2026, and I’m even more excited about what comes next. We have an incredibly experienced team, fantastic customers and partners around the world, and a very clear idea of where we can add value.

“Our mission hasn’t changed, and neither has the heart of Wexer. We will continue to push the digital fitness category forward and help our customers get more from their spaces, equipment, and people.”

Wexer is already preparing for an ambitious 2027, with further product improvements, new product launches and partnerships planned. More will be revealed over the coming months.

About Robert

Robert Louw brings more than 25 years of experience in the health, wellness and fitness industry, having worked on both the operator and supplier sides of the market. He joined Wexer in 2016 as Head of Business Development EMEA, and over nearly a decade has held a series of senior roles, including Chief Growth Officer, and Chief Operating Officer.

As COO, he led Wexer’s commercial engine and oversaw delivery across Product, Sales, Customer Success and Finance. Before Wexer, he held commercial leadership roles at ClubVirtual International, HDD Group and Fitness First. His deep understanding of both the operator and supplier sides makes him uniquely placed to lead Wexer’s next phase of growth as it continues to power digital fitness for health clubs, hospitality, corporate, multi-family housing and healthcare partners in more than 50 countries.

What’s next for Wexer

If 2026 was about building momentum, the year ahead is about putting it to work. Reformer Pilates, Aqua and GymRAX were just the start: the team is already deep into what comes next, with new launches and upgrades designed to make every club space work harder, every member experience richer, and every partner more successful.

We’ve never been more excited about what’s on the way, and we can’t wait to show you. Stay tuned: the best of Wexer is still to come.
